| A. P. Moller Singapore was established 8 March 1978 as "The Maersk Company Singapore" and started out with two container feeder vessels " Maersk Mango" and "Maersk Tempo".
At present we own and operate a fleet of 120 vessels with a total Gross tonnage of 5.1 million tonnes, which makes us one of the largest shipowners in Singapore.
The average age of our vessels is 3.3 years, which is less than half the average age of the world merchant fleet.
Today, we employ about 3,300 seafarers which include Officers, Ratings and Cadets. In addition, the International Cadet Administration for the group is operated from Singapore, handling over 1,100 cadets.
Our officers are international with the majority from India, Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar. Ratings are employed from the Philippines & India. Apprentices ,Cadet Officers are from Singapore, India, Malaysia and China. |
